The department is pleased to welcome Jimmy Pratas, a new student in the Biochemistry program joining the Tigist Tamir lab. Originally from New Jersey, Pratas completed his undergraduate studies at Penn State in 2020. He later worked as a research technician at Princeton before relocating to North Carolina.

Garrett grew up in Chapel Hill, NC. Research is exciting to him because he is always learning something new. After working as a research technician in our department, he came to appreciate the collaborative environment and found the research especially interesting.
